Glasses required

My mom asked me first thing this morning, "do you need special glasses to see Ice Age in 3D?  Can someone still watch the 3D version without wearing them?"  Unfortunately, the 3D version is not happily watchable without the passive polarized glasses (unless you're into headaches).  It's just economics - the technology to make one film for simultaneous 2D and 3D viewing is not practical at scale.  It's out there, it's just not something that's available like the 1,600 or so RealD screens currently playing the movie (and that number is growing with RealD's popularity). So without the glasses, you'll see something like:

Alright, so this is anaglyph, but polarized images also have fuzziness to them.
