Everyone at work is counting down the days until the New York screening (and afterparty) for Ice Age: The Meltdown. It looks like there won't be a party after the official Los Angeles premiere, so the events in New York City will be even more significant. Of course, some crew members are still planning to make their way out to Grauman's Chinese Theater for a chance to join the "Celebrity Air Collection Squad." (Kidding!) For those of us who can't be there in person, though, there's always stargazing via the internet.
With the New York event in mind, I've been doing a little extra shopping lately. I ordered a mandarin-collared, long skirt set (mostly black with pink and green accents), and of course I own nothing pink, so I "had" to get a new handbag to go with it. Incidentally, while I was nosing around for fresh gear, I also found the flowery purse that I received last summer. If the party wasn't in the city, I might be tempted to pair that with my alternate outfit - a flutter-sleeved, black dress. Here's hoping at least one of these outfits work!
Update: Well, the black dress didn't work out (too big), but I did manage to get the same model a size smaller in mint green. It was on sale for less than the price for a pair of blue jeans at the Gap, so I couldn't resist (even though I went with the skirt set afterall). Before the festivities, I went to the Elizabeth Arden Red Door spa for a manicure, pedicure, and a new 'do that sent about seven inches to the floor. That evening, I was armed with a new 4G memory stick in my cybershot, but wound up mostly using the camcorder because night mode just catches all kinds of hilarity. ;)
